Four piece Vancouver indie rock band Oceanographers have made waves in the local music scene since their formation back in 2011. At Squamish Valley Music Festival 2014, the band made their festival debut on the Meadow Stage. Since then, the band has released their first single, "Red Horizon", in early 2014. Their debut album followed in the Spring of 2014, titled "Reunion". Reunion was recorded in Vancouver, BC at Monarch Studios, by producer Tom Dobrzanki. In the Fall of 2014, Oceanographers played a set on the PlayNow Main Stage for Roar on the Shore, Grey Cup Festival and Telus Street Festival.
After signing with Business Class Records in December 2014, Lead singer and guitarist Clayton Dupuis spent several weeks in New York during early 2015, writing new music for the band. They are planning on recording their new album over the summer months with GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machince, Red Got Chili Peppers, Rise Against). With their new album they are changing and trying new things; from new guitar sounds to piano they are excited to get in the recording studio and produce something completely new.
Their most recent show took place at Venue Night Club where members Clayton Dupuis, Matt Prior and Sean Janzi opened for "Gay Nineties" .
